A very simple and effective way to transform the appearance of your teeth and smile is using this modern technique of recreating the perfect shape and contour of the teeth using an enamel like material called composite, which bonds directly onto the teeth. Innovations in the latest generation of composite materials allows the dentist to recreate and transform teeth which are misshapen, chipped, broken, or discoloured to make them look rejuvenated and refreshed. The procedure is completely pain free and usually requires very little loss of the tooth structure, and the results can be simply amazing. Our dentists are very experienced in these techniques and provide consistently pleasing results. These type of fillings perform very well over time though will need some maintenance such as the occasional re-polishing and may change colour over the longer term.

Porcelain veneers are a cosmetic dental procedure by which the appearance of your teeth can be completely transformed. This technique allows us to plan and provide very predictable and aesthetically pleasing smiles, which look eye-catching and attractive. These type of veneers are usually considered where there is a requirement to improve the look of discoloured, chipped, worn, misshapen, or spaced teeth. Porcelain veneers have far more superior aesthetics, and enamel like characteristics. They are made up of a wafer-thin shell of porcelain which bonds directly onto your tooth or teeth with a special dental cement, which holds the porcelain veneer in place permanently. There may be a requirement to prepare the front surface of the tooth/teeth to accommodate the porcelain veneer. Once they are bonded in place they will withstand normal wear and tear and result in a transformed beautiful smile which will last for years to come, provided they are well looked after. This treatment is usually an elective cosmetic dental procedure for those seeking an aesthetic enhancement to their smile.

Like porcelain veneers, aesthetic porcelain crowns or bridges can provide strong, functional, and great looking restorations to a single tooth or multiple teeth to provide a beautiful smile.
Porcelain crowns are similar to veneers though cover the whole of the tooth, thus providing complete protection to the tooth and also helping to provide a refreshed look to the tooth or teeth being treated. All porcelain crowns have similar aesthetics to porcelain veneers and help to improve the appearance of broken, chipped, discoloured, malformed, or heavily filled teeth. Porcelain crowns also offer the advantage of improving the alignment of the teeth, if there is minor crowding or spacing present. There is a requirement to prepare the tooth in order to place the crown on the tooth though with all porcelain crowns this is less as compared to porcelain fused to metal crowns. Porcelain crowns are a strong, durable, and aesthetically pleasing restoration which has a long life span, provided it is well maintained. See our treatment gallery for examples of this type of treatment.
Porcelain bridgework is a treatment option to help replace one or more missing teeth either in the front or back of the mouth, using the teeth either side of the space to help support and retain the bridge in place permanently. Your dentist will assess the health of the teeth and gums for the teeth, which could potentially support the bridge and discuss with you the suitability of this treatment option for you, and any other suitable alternatives (such as implants). The process of having a porcelain bridge made is similar to the procedure for a crown and the selected tooth/teeth are prepared and a mould of the tooth is then taken for the construction of the bridge. While the bridge is being made at the lab by our specialist dental technicians, a temporary crown or bridge will be made to cover the prepared teeth. When you return on the fitting appointment, the temporary crowns/bridge will be removed and the new bridge is tried in and checked for precision fitting and aesthetics along with a check of your bite. Once all is satisfactorily checked and assured and most importantly you are happy with the result the bridge will be permanently fixed into place. See treatment gallery for examples.
